The British government is set to progress with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russia's holdings to bolster the Ukrainian defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the officials of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They further noted that the move would be executed in strong partnership with the United States.

British restrictions have blocked more than £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, money allocated to Ukraine using Russian holdings had exclusively been sourced from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to drive progress toward utilizing the total worth of the immobilized Russia's state holdings to conclude the conflict.

He noted that additional sanctions soon would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This statement comes after EU representatives gathered in the Danish capital last week to discuss employing seized Russia's assets for a €140 billion credit to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, American leader Donald Trump called on international partners to confiscate or utilize frozen Russia's assets, as reported by reports.

The total of immobilized Russia's holdings in the European Union is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government launched large-scale missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on recently, resulting in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

While praising the Britain's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the system, as well as apply more restrictions on Moscow.
