Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the team following the controversy from his public comments.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.

Moving Forward

He emphasized that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” Jones added.

The midfielder also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

Positive Results

Their results have remained strong in the games following the situation. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.

“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and securing victories.”
